About

Coromandel Ramblers are a highly successful cricket club in the Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association.

Under 11′s

The Coromandel Ramblers Cricket Club entered an Under 11′s team into the South Central Junior Cricket Association in the 2009/10 season. As part of this, our club nominated Hawthorndene Oval as the preferred ground for home games, which means that parents and other siblings can enjoy a light Sunday breakfast at Joan’s Pantry across the road while their son or daughter plays cricket in an fun and friendly environment. For season 2009/2010, trainings were held on Thursday nights from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Weymouth Oval in Coromandel Valley. Everyone was welcome to attend and everyone will be welcomed with open arms. There was an equal opportunity for everyone to participate and no-one missed out on an opportunity to play in a game through ‘performance’. All individuals played as many games as possible and selection was on a rotating basis (pending player numbers), so no-one missed out on an opportunity to play the majority of the season.

Season 2010/11 will see the same setup for the Under 11′s, with the exception that there may be a slight change to the training night. Further detailed will be communicated to pre-registered individuals as soon as a decision is made.

All children will receive a club shirt and hat for the season as part of their fees, with the club also providing all equipment as part of a team kit. For those who already have a playing shirt, then another option will be available for each child, with further details on this to follow. In addition, other merchandise and coaching is available for purchase, with enquiries about these to be directed to the contacts at the bottom of the page. The fees for the 2009/10 season were $70 and hence, is quite cost competitive with other offerings. These fees are unlikely to change for the 2010/11 season.

For the 2010/11 season, the Under 11′s team will need to find a scorer, team manager and umpire as well as the potential need for a coach from the parent group within the playing ranks. All of these positions will be supported by a training program initiated and paid for by the club. These positions can be based around a rotation system from within the parents present in the team, so there is no need or pressure for the one individual to undertake this role for the entire season.

If your child would like to participate in this team, then feel free to contact Ashley through any of the details listed on the contacts page. He will be more than happy to help meet any enquires you may have about the Under 11′s team.
