Congratulations go to Josh Haussen for leading the club’s senior Twenty20 side to winning the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association’s knock-out Twenty20 competition. This premiership is the first premiership for the club since 2006-07, and the first in the premier grade since 1998-99.

After losing the toss, the bowlers went to work, bowling Cove out for 80 runs before the conclusion of their 20 overs. After a short break, our put the game out of Cove’s reach by overhauling the target in the 12th over, losing only 3 wickets in the process.

The Coromandel Valley Ramblers Cricket Club will, once again, be hosting its annual quiz night in the 2010-11 season. This season, the club is hosting the quiz night at the following time and venue -

Venue – Blackwood Memorial Hall, 21 Coromandel Parade, Blackwood

The major auction item at this event is the 2011 Backyard Blitz, kindly donated by Brett Lawson at Climate Change Landscape and Project Management and the senior players who provide the labour on the day. Other auction items are available, and are detailed here.

For everyone who is not familiar with or have forgotten the heat regulations of the club and/or associations, then please use the following guides -

Seniors – Saturday (game-day) - If the day’s forecast for Adelaide on ABC Local Radio (891 AM) at 9:00am Saturday is 40 Degrees Celsius or above, then play is called off for that day. You do not have to turn up to your ground in this case. Unless there are exceptional circumstances communicated to you, then play is still scheduled for any temperature below this.

Seniors – Tuesday/Thursday (training) – Training will only be cancelled with due consideration to a player’s health. Any cancellation of training will be communicated to you through an SMS and/or email on the day.

Juniors – Sunday (game-day) – If the day’s forecast for Adelaide on ABC Local Radio (891 AM) at 8:00am Sunday is 38 Degrees Celsius or above, then play is called off for that day. You do not have to turn up to your ground in this case. Unless there are other circumstances communicated to you, then play is still scheduled for any temperature below this.

Juniors – Thursday/Friday (training) - If the day’s forecast for Adelaide at 9:00am on your training day is 38 Degrees Celsius or above on the Bureau of Meteorology’s website, then training is cancelled for that day. You do not have to turn up to Weymouth Oval if such is the case, and an SMS will be sent out accordingly. For temperatures between 35 and 37 Degrees Celsius, then due consideration will be given to cancelling training (e.g. length of heatwave, timing of heat etc.), but please assume that training is still on unless otherwise notified.

Juniors – Milo in2CRICKET (Friday) and Under 9′s (Monday) - Given the time of these programs, then due consideration will be given to the heat requirements of the day. However, no set cut-off temperature is given and hence, you would be duly notified if such a night is cancelled.

For both situations that require listening to the news on ABC Local Radio (891 AM), then please be aware that they source their information from the Bureau of Meteorology. This information is updated at 6:00am on the same day and hence, very rarely does it change from this time to the next update at about 11:30am. Therefore, whilst it is a requirement to listen to the radio at the appropriate time, using the Bureau’s information from their website will often suffice as an accurate guide as well.
