About

Coromandel Ramblers are a highly successful cricket club in the Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association.

A big thank you…

August 31st, 2010

The Coromandel Valley Ramblers would like to take this opportunity to thank the following organisations and bodies for their recent support.

Mitcham Council- for a grant that has assisted us in establishing our inaugral junior program. We look forward to this program growing in the coming years.

State Government of SA: Office for Recreation and Sport- for a grant that has assisted us with purchasing equipment and attire. Each season the Club tries to keep player fees low so that local members of the community are encouraged to play sport and take part in different community events. This grant has allowed us to do, with player fees not being raised from previous season.

Onkaparinga Council- for a grant that has assisted us to subsidize our training shirts. Again, this has made things more reasonably priced for our members and will see many more people in Club colours.

The Coromandel Valley Ramblers Cricket Club realise that the support of such above bodies is important for us as a local community based Club and we would like to extend our gratitude for this support.

As an added bonus, two of our club sponsors have specials currently running for club members and their families. Please remember to quote the club’s name and what program/team you, your child participates in or your family name and associated connection to receive these specials.

As major sponsor, Skyworld Outdoor Blinds is currently running a 20% special on their products. In order for the club to benefit, please quote Coromandel Ramblers to Kevin O’Looney when placing an order, and you and the club will benefit from Skyworld’s ongoing support.

Skyworld Outdoor Blinds

Skyworld has conveniently prepared a one page document that details the services that they offer. As you can see within the document provided, it is quite extensive and can handle the needs of a small and large scale project.

Kevin can be contacted on 08 8384 7093 or email info@skyworld.com.au with Kevin O’Looney in the subject line and the club is sure that Kevin can arrange an excellent deal for you.

In addition, Climate Change Landscape and Project Management is offering club members and their families the opportunity to save 15% of any backyard landscaping project between August and November. However, you must mention ‘Coromandel Ramblers’ and your involvement with the club in order to benefit from this discount.

To see what Climate Change Landscape and Project Management can do, then please visit this previous post as to how Glen Rosie’s backyard was redesigned. Not only can Brett redesign small backyards like Glen’s, but he can handle many other projects, no matter how complex they may be in their design. To see what Brett can do, then please have a look at the Climate Change Landscape and Project Management offer and brief document.

Brett can be contacted on 0433 777 465 or at climatechangelandscape@bigpond.com if you would like to landscape your backyard or engage a professional to finish off those ‘small projects’.

Please also remember to support our other club sponsors, as they have put in their money to help support the club and its programs. Without their support, then the club would not be able to function in a manner that would support itself. Therefore, the more we can support them in their businesses, the more that the club can benefit and pass this onto you. All other sponsors can be found on the sponsors page as well as in the sponsors document.

The major auction item for the 2010 Quiz Night was for a backyard makeover headed up by Brett Lawson of Climate Change Landscape & Project Management and Justin “JC” Calderbank.

Through the very generous donations by the sponsors below, the auction raised over $3,500 at the auction with a number of bidders all vying for the prize with Deb & Glen Rosie being victorious.

Over the course of a few weekends, Deb & Glen’s backyard has gone from “we think there’s a backyard there somewhere” to “that’s a place you’d want to spend a lot of time in”.

After the makeover...

Players from the club put in the hard yards to make it happen, they being Brett Lawson; Justin Calderbank; Matt Smith; Damian Allen; Martin Wagner; Josh Haussen and Sam Davenport.

Without sponsors, things like this don’t happen. Please make every effort to use their services/products if you can and mention the cricket club. Hopefully the club can do this annually but we need people’s support.

Climate Change Landscape & Project Management
Brett Lawson managed the entire project, organised all the items and designed the new landscape. Brett put in a huge effort to make this happen. If you need landscaping work done – look no further. Deb & Glen couldn’t be happier.

After the conclusion of each season, the senior and junior players wrapped up their season in separate presentation ceremonies. At these ceremonies, various awards, trophies and certificates were presented to individuals within the club.

As part of the ongoing tradition, all players and supporters present at these ceremonies received a copy of the end-of-season magazine, ‘The Declaration’. In addition, most first year senior players who were not in attendance on the night and those who requested copies were also delivered or posted copies, but at a later date. If you would like a higher quality printed or PDF copy of either magazine, then please contact Ashley through the the details provided on the contacts page.

Additionally, these magazines can also be downloaded from the club website. At the moment, the link to these magazines can be found below -
